...Which is to say that I have plans to actually DO some blogging this year. I convinced myself all last year that I just didn't have time, but really, I have plenty of opportunity to write, once I eliminate some of my unnecessary and frivolous computer time. And so, that is my resolution for this new year, 2013: I'm going to spend less time on Facebook and games, and more time writing, reading, and crafting -- hobbies which produce actual, tangible results. For instance, just this past week, I purchased a sewing machine and started learning to sew! It's something I've always wanted to learn, but for some reason, I was afraid to try... Silly! I'm nearly 40 years old; what do I have to lose? In fact, that just might be my motto for this year -- What do I have to lose? If I fail, at least I can say I tried.
Another thing that stopped me from blogging last year was the self-imposed restriction that this was going to be a knitting blog, dadgummit; therefore, any post ideas I had which didn't involve knitting didn't belong in this space. And to be honest, I didn't do a whole lot of knitting last year, so I didn't have a whole lot I could write about here. Again, that was just plain silly! My tagline reads, "Chronicling the peculiar habits of an uncommon knitter." I have more habits than just knitting. In fact, I'm peculiar in a good many ways... Why not write about them all?!
So, there you go... It's the first day of a new year, and the first day of a new me as well.
